- Oxford... is only ten miles and a fifteen minute drive. Everything in Oxford is behind walls, so the Open Top Buses are the best way to view the city and its colleges.
- They all have running commentary as you go along, and if you see something of interest get off the bus-explore-then jump on the next bus, the buses come around about every
- 15 minutes in the high season.
Blenheim Palace.....Fifteen minute drive through the countryside, home of the Duke & Duchess Marlborough. Winston Churchill was born here and is buried at the churchyard in Blaydon a short drive from Blenheim. The house is open until November and the gardens are open all year. A spectacular setting, well worth a visit.
The Cotswolds... ... a 20 minute drive away. An area of outstanding natural beauty.
Absolute fantastic scenery the old woollen towns of Burford, Stowe on the Wold, Moreton in the Marsh, all are well worth the visit and the drive is stunning especially in the Spring and Autumn. Be warned in the high season these towns do become - very busy.
Warwick Castle.......... A superb example of our medieval history with some fantastic exhibitions from the people who run Madame Tussaud.If you want walk round the battlements you must be fit !!!
Stratford upon Avon...Home of William Shakespeare - who would have thought five hundered years ago that this man would be responsible for the millions of visitors from all over the world who visit England just because of him.
- Both Warwick and Stratford are about a 45 minute drive up the M40 motorway. You would really need a whole day to give them justice.
